What to Expect in Your First Week at TNT Hybrid

Nervous about your first week at TNT Hybrid? Here's exactly what happens — from your first session to your first class — so you can walk in knowing what to expect.

Starting a new gym is one of those things everyone puts off — not because they don't want to train, but because they don't know what to expect. Will I look out of place? Do I need to know what I'm doing already? What actually happens on day one?

If you're joining TNT Hybrid in Settle, here's the honest answer: your first week is built to be simple, supported, and pressure-free. This is exactly what happens from the moment you walk through the door to the end of your first seven days.

Quick answer: Your first week at TNT Hybrid starts with a coach-led walkthrough of the gym in Settle, a chat about your goals and getting set up on the TNT Hybrid app. Then you book a class or two and train at your own pace. Bring comfortable kit, trainers and water. Not sure yet? A £10 day pass lets you try it first.

Day One: Your Welcome and Walkthrough

You won't be handed a key fob and left to figure it out. When you arrive for your first visit, one of our coaches — often Hannah, Tomi, or whoever's on the floor — will walk you through the whole facility. That's 6,000 sq ft of space, so it's worth the tour.

You'll see:

  • The main training floor and our 2x 10m sled track
  • Our Hyrox equipment and curved runners
  • The full range of CV equipment
  • Our modern plate and pin loaded machines
  • Where classes run, and how to book them on the app

We'll also talk through your goals — whether that's general fitness, strength, weight loss, or training for something specific like Hyrox — so your first sessions actually make sense for you.

Getting Set Up on the App

Everything at TNT Hybrid runs through the TNT Hybrid app (via Legitfit), available on iOS and Android. In your first session, we'll help you download it, book your first class, and show you how bookings work day to day. It takes five minutes and means you're never stuck wondering how to get into a session.

Your First Few Sessions: No Pressure, Just Progress

Nobody expects you to walk in and lift your heaviest or run your fastest. Your first week is about learning the space, the equipment, and how our coaches work — not proving anything.

If you're gym-only, you're welcome to use the floor at your own pace, and our coaches are always around to help with form or programming questions. If you've gone for a class-inclusive membership, Warrior — our strength and conditioning class — is one of the best ways to ease in with structure and support from day one.

Not sure where to start? Just ask. That's genuinely what we're here for.

Meeting the Coaches

Part of what makes that first week different at TNT Hybrid is who's actually in the building. You might train alongside:

  • Louise Coates, who brings a powerlifting, CrossFit, Hyrox and HIIT background, and a coaching mindset built around lifting you as well as the bar
  • Dan Smith, our endurance specialist, if long-distance or event training is your thing
  • Rebecca Preston, if you're looking for spin or want a coach who specialises in training through peri- and post-menopause
  • Kris Nagy, for combat sports, mobility and movement work

You'll get to know the full team as your first week goes on — everyone trains at TNT Hybrid, and everyone's approachable.

Meet the full team on our trainers page, or read how personal training works at TNT Hybrid.

What to Bring

Keep it simple for week one:

  • Comfortable training kit and trainers
  • A water bottle
  • A towel, if you're doing anything class-based
  • Your phone, with the TNT Hybrid app downloaded

That's genuinely it. We provide the rest — including access to our on-site sports therapist if you need support with niggles, injuries, or recovery, and our on-site barber for the days you've got somewhere to be after training.

By the End of Week One

Most new members leave their first week having:

  • Completed a full facility walkthrough
  • Booked and attended at least one class or floor session
  • Met two or three coaches by name
  • Got comfortable using the app to book future sessions
  • Started to feel like part of the TNT Hybrid community, not just a new face

That's the point of the first week. It's not about performance — it's about making sure Settle's most complete training facility actually feels like somewhere you belong.

Try It for Yourself

If you're still deciding, our £10 day pass is the easiest way to see the gym and feel what your first week would actually be like. And if you sign up to a membership within the week of your visit, that £10 is refunded in full — so there's genuinely nothing to lose by coming to have a look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be fit before I start at TNT Hybrid?

No. TNT Hybrid is built for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced athletes. Your first week is designed to meet you where you are, not the other way round.

What should I wear to my first session?

Comfortable training clothes and supportive trainers are all you need. Bring a water bottle and a towel if you're joining a class.

Can I try TNT Hybrid before committing to a membership?

Yes. Day passes are available for £10 per visit, and that fee is refunded in full if you sign up to a membership within the week.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, all classes are booked through the TNT Hybrid app (iOS and Android). Gym-only access can generally be more flexible, but we'll confirm exactly how it works during your welcome walkthrough.

What classes are available for beginners?

Evolve and Pilates both have beginner-friendly sessions, and Strength is a great way to learn the main lifts with coaching support. See the full class timetable, or ask a coach to recommend the right mix for your goals.

Is there support if I have an injury or old niggle?

Yes. TNT Hybrid has an on-site sports therapist, so you're supported from day one if you're managing an injury or recovering from one.

How big is TNT Hybrid?

The facility is 6,000 sq ft, making it Settle's most complete training facility, with dedicated space for strength, conditioning, Hyrox training and more.
